- Please be patient and wait for the discounted price on the flight (flight network reviews). Don’t let it stop now, because saving $100 on a flight may mean more money for sightseeing, hotels, dinner, excursions, etc. Sometimes there will be a last minute deal, but most of the time, you will find the best price at least 21 days before the departure date.
- Visit the airline’s direct website. While these third-party travel sites may be excellent, sometimes the best non-advertising offers are found directly on the airline’s website. I recommend that you sign up to receive email promotions from preferred airlines. For example, since I live in Canada, I have subscribed to Air Canada’s travel promotions. This allows us to post special offers on the Air Canada website.
- Check the departure/arrival of other airports. It’s not always practical, but sometimes there are more than one airport in many big cities, or another airport is close to another.
- Follow third-party airlines and travel sites on Twitter (social network) and subscribe to your mailing list. One of the best features of social networking is that airlines can use it to promote special travel promotions through certain social media. Sometimes airlines offer special promotional codes on their Twitter or Facebook pages instead of posting them on other websites.
- Don’t be afraid to book flights from flight network and hotels separately. Sometimes you can get offers on sites like Expedia by grouping your vacations and booking airline tickets and hotels at the same time, but this is not always the case. If you see a special offer on your flight, please book now, don’t wait! You can find more favorable prices at the hotel later.
- Know which year and which days to fly cheaper. Travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays is usually cheaper than any other day of the week. (In general, midweek flight searches also produce the best deals). Based on my experience, I also found that the best prices are available on Thursdays and Saturdays. Of course, this won’t happen all the time, you will have to try the date, so Skyscanner is great for deciphering the day of leaving and returning cheaper.

- Save money and luggage. Most airlines now charge $25 each time they check their luggage. If your baggage exceeds the weight limit of the airline, they will charge you more. You can avoid this by turning on the light and avoiding the baggage not exceeding the limit.
- Purchase travel/health insurance. I always recommend purchasing health insurance (extra) or travel insurance for your trip, but sometimes you won’t get the best price when you choose the insurance package provided by the airline when you book your flight with flight network. Typically, your work insurance provides you with travel insurance or health insurance when you travel. If you are unsure, please contact HR. You can also buy insurance from your bank and I tend to find the best price.
- Avoid paying seat options (if possible). Some airlines charge extra fees for early seat selection, sometimes included in the price; if that’s the case, that would be great, but if you need to spend $20 or less to quickly choose a seat, you agree. Usually, you can register in advance (24 hours before the flight departure) and choose a seat for free.
- Use the travel rewards program. Today’s competition between airlines and credit cards is fierce, so please register your travel rewards program. Contact your bank to see which travel reward credit card is best for your needs. Many of them allow you to accumulate daily expenses points so that you can redeem free flights. Some of these credit cards have rules, such as booking tickets only through your bank or blocking travel dates.
I hope these tips can help you book your next vacation or next trip. Keep in mind that these tips are in my own experience, but may not be for everyone. The most important thing to remember is that the key to getting the best price on your flight from flight network is to have a patient and flexible travel date.
